In the past year, one of the many success stories from our transition house stands out. We want to remember and salute a woman who lived in our transition house for overcoming many barriers. She fled not only an abusive husband but also a war torn country. She came here with little knowledge of English. She found safe affordable market housing, secured language classes for herself and her son and fought for herself to insist the state provided for her and her son.
